- Device Permissions: The App may request access to your Location (to identify nearby spotting sites) or Camera (to allow you to document your finds). These are only used for core app functionality and require your explicit consent.
- Usage Data: We may collect technical logs (e.g., crash reports via Firebase) to ensure the App remains stable and secure.
2. Lawful Basis for Processing
Under the UK GDPR, we process your data based on:
- Contract: To provide the spotting guide services you have subscribed to.
- Legitimate Interest: To maintain app security and improve user experience.
- Consent: For accessing device features like your camera or location.
3. Subscriptions and Cancellation Rights
In accordance with the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act, we ensure your subscription is transparent:
- Pricing: Premium subscription available as £4.99 per month or £49.99 per year (17% discount). Billed automatically unless cancelled.
- Easy Exit: You may cancel your subscription at any time via your Google Play Subscription Settings or inside the app Account > Manage > Cancel. Cancellation is designed to be as straightforward as signing up.
- Initial Cooling-off Period: At this moment in time, we do not offer a cooling off period.
4. Data Retention and Security
We retain your personal data only as long as your account is active. We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS 1.3) to protect your data during transmission.
