Do
- ✓Stay on designated paths and keep to public access areas
- ✓Observe from a distance using binoculars or a scope
- ✓Move quietly and avoid sudden movements
- ✓Leave no trace — take nothing but photos
- ✓Respect dawn/dusk activity windows (best viewing times)
- ✓Report injured wildlife to local authorities
Don't
- ✗Never approach, feed, or disturb wildlife
- ✗Don't use calls, scents, or lures to attract animals
- ✗Avoid loud noises, flash photography, or bright lights
- ✗Never block escape routes or corner animals
- ✗Don't enter restricted areas or disturb protected habitats
- ✗Avoid disturbing breeding or nesting periods
Disturbance reminders
Watch for stress signals:
- • Alert posture, staring, or frozen movement
- • Vocalizations (alarm calls, hissing, growling)
- • Flight or retreat behavior
- • Aggressive displays (baring teeth, raised hackles)
If you see stress signals:
Stop immediately, back away slowly, and give the animal more space.
