Do
  • Stay on designated paths and keep to public access areas
  • Observe from a distance using binoculars or a scope
  • Move quietly and avoid sudden movements
  • Leave no trace — take nothing but photos
  • Respect dawn/dusk activity windows (best viewing times)
  • Report injured wildlife to local authorities
Don't
  • Never approach, feed, or disturb wildlife
  • Don't use calls, scents, or lures to attract animals
  • Avoid loud noises, flash photography, or bright lights
  • Never block escape routes or corner animals
  • Don't enter restricted areas or disturb protected habitats
  • Avoid disturbing breeding or nesting periods
Disturbance reminders
Watch for stress signals:
  • • Alert posture, staring, or frozen movement
  • • Vocalizations (alarm calls, hissing, growling)
  • • Flight or retreat behavior
  • • Aggressive displays (baring teeth, raised hackles)
If you see stress signals:
Stop immediately, back away slowly, and give the animal more space.
